Some years ago, I broke my pocket mirror.
Let's ignore the part about the 7 years of bad luck, because, who cares about silly superstitions, right?

Then, on the bus, my purse was stolen. A month later I was able to retrieve some things (some all tattered and moldy), but my pocket mirror was nowhere to be found.

...Bad luck.
